Oh, doesn’t time fly when you… don’t… really… have… anything… to… post… about… Yes, it would seem that my scheme of getting more anime watched by not doing comics somewhat backfired, in so much as I’m now finding myself with much more time in which to play games (Oooo, Valkyria Chronicles 2…) instead of watching [...]

09/05/2010 06:56 AM EDTJ-Links Digest nr.46 - Interesting Japan Articles of the Week >>
What we have this week in the Japan links?
Great onsen photos, a couple of interesting trips, a glimpse of history and a very interesting insight on… women Sumo!
Some interesting news too: Japanese authorities are considering to charge Mount Fuji climbers (oh, well…), Odakyu trains are officially too noisy (since I used to live near a railway, I can relate to that…), an interesting expo at Tokyo Big Sight and two newborn Pandas in Japan (so cute!).
We have also a weird exhibition in Versailles (I know, that’s not in Japan…), and a “real world” extension of a dating sim game (but that’s only in Japan)…
In the technology area, there are a couple of cool videos with robots and… toilets (really cool) and an interesting insight in the Japanese fake food industry. Enjoy!

As soon as the girls of K-ON's light music club stepped out for what would be their final high school performance a couple of weeks ago, it's pretty obvious that there would be some new songs closely followed by a new insert single to rake in a little more cash from the franchise, and lo and behold here it is in all it's glory, featuring both new tracks shown off during the aforementioned

I watched this fairly obscure 80s OAV awhile back by the name of California Crisis. It played like one of those scummy low-budget flicks you’d see on USA Up All Night back in the early 90s, minus Gilbert Gottfried yelling at you during commercial breaks, and for that I really dug it. An alien object [...]

Not only is Osaka by night a pretty sight, there's a fairly unique way of taking it in available: from a ferris wheel on the seventh floor of a shopping mall. The HEP FIVE building in Osaka's Umeda district is largely a fashion centre, but the top floors are dedicated to amusement with arcades and, yes, a big red ferris wheel that provides a great view of Osaka from 106m up at the apex. HEP FIVE is just a few minutes from the JR Osaka and Hankyu Umeda stations, and is pretty easy to find since it's the only building with a ferris wheel on top.

In a recent article published on We Remember Love, Pontifus considered the confusing contradictions that appear throughout Ookami-san and pondered whether they indicated a statement on moe, or perhaps even a meta-reaction to it. He took it one step further by bringing up the question of whether a moe in conflict with itself (as appears [...]

Female!Matthew is sooooo adorable~ So he has pigtails like Female!Arthur, eh? Daaaaw~ (And wait, Female!Alfred is quite similar to Female!Francis.... hhhhmmm.... while the male versions are the other way around [Matthew's hair is like Francis's then Alfred's to Arthur's].... omg my fave Hetalia "family" still has the similarities/connections even in female versions xD)Now about the episode.....It started with Ludwig getting an order that he should make Roderich part of his territory. Feliciano and Elizaveta were begging Ludwig not to do it (If you see it as a scene of family members defending their daddy it's so.... awwww~). It was also against Ludwig's will but he can't go against orders (Poor guy.) Surprisingly, Roderich didn't mind.He was even enjoying it... leeching on Ludwig. Haha! The conqueror was being bullied, LOLz~ What's more amusing is that Roderich's even using Feliciano to indirectly threaten Ludwig, haha!I'm not certain if this part is historically accurate.... it doesn't seem to be so from articles I've read so far but... well, it did happen. The another part of the episode is a continuation of the Antonio and chibi Lovino strips....(LOVINO = SQUISHABLE; TURKEY = SEXY VILLAIN; ANTONIO = LOVE)I find it amusingly adorable that Lovino still has the guts to say insults even when he's facing an enemy he's freakin' afraid of, haha. What I couldn't get off my mind was the end though.... Antonio shouting Lovino's name when he heard the boy in danger was like..... OMGTZEDRAMA!!!! Hahahahahahahahahahah!!!!!!Of course the episode this week was cool but..... the best Hetalia-related stuff that happened this week is the:CLEANING PRUSSIA-SAN MINI GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Himaruya-sensei has it available for download at his ever-so-awesome blog~ Well, it's in Japanese, but thanks to jammerlea and gilbolove, we can see the parts of the game translated! w00t!THANKS TO GILBO, THERE'S FINALLY SOMETHING EPIC AWESOME ABOUT HOUSEHOLD CHORES!!!! DOING GOOD FOR OTHERS HAD NEVER BEEN THIS AMUSING ADMIRABLE!!!! GILBO!!! YOU'RE OUR IDOL!!! IN GOOD DEEDS AND IN EVERYTHING ABSURD!!!!Those shots on the nation-tan's houses.... they're so.... WOW! And all options in the game were fun~ The most touching one was the Ludwig option - good ending (Gilbo loves his younger brother so much, daaaaw~) and the funniest one was the Berwald option (Bwahahahhahahahahahaha!), and I believe the craziest one is the Roderich option (And my goddess was there! =3 And it looks like Elizaveta always treats Gilbo's wounds if she has injured him, haha!). My favorite though is the omake section, the bad friends trio are still the best of friends! Hahahahahah! I love how those two tease Gilbo~ Teehee~Oh, on other news. The covers of the next three Counting Sheep CD series are out:Just heard the first and second one. Lovino was counting tomato while Ludwig was counting wurst. LOLz. Feliciano's ever so adorable while Gilbo's as crazy as ever xD Haha! Gilbo's acting like the younger one as usual, hahahaha! How he threw tantrums on the busy Ludwig.... hahahaha!Lastly, Tokyopop just released a trailer of the first volume:So.... COLORFUL and CUTE! Hahahahaha! Love it~Waaaahhhh.... I wonder when it will reach my country. And drats, I could already imagine how much it'll cost but.... oh well ^^ Hopefully they really did it as awesome as it seems =3
