Ore no Imouto or simply, "oreimo", is a recent Fall Season anime that just recently began airing on Tokyo MX, TV Saitama, Chiba TV, and MBS. Watched the first 2 episodes that are out so far, and needless to say...it is awesome. Synopsis: It's about a brother and his little sister- who happens to be an otaku. This, "rare breed" of otaku (female otaku)- gives the story an extra kick- although I don't feel it effects the plot much, mainly because even if she was a little brother character the plot would still play out similarly- buuuut, of course she has the extra kick of being a cute little sister, and that makes a world of difference! Kirino has the bossy personality of Haruhi Suzumiya and yet feels similar to Konata Izumi in terms of being an adorable female otaku character. So the story paces well, and has a Genshiken-like feel. But there's one thing Kirino and her brother must remember: Their parents cannot find out, no matter what, that Kirino is an otaku! If so, their dad will kill them and society will hate them...apparently. She ends up asking her brother to help hide her anime and gaming addiction, and soon she begins trying to convert him!
