While Shinji and company draw up their battle plan, Kensuke is getting ready to release the angel from the virtual world into the real world.Angel to Kensuke: You will pay your subscription fee every month, buy every expansion pack, and purchase every crappy piece of game-related merchandise we come up with.Summary:After reporting that Kensuke is missing, Touji starts pressing Shinji for answers regarding what his group (Rei, Asuka etc.) is up to. Touji has figured out that Kensuke's behaviour has something to do with the new MMORPG, and he also suspects that Shinji's group knows more than everybody else. Before Shinji can respond to any of the tough questions, Touji and Hikari spot Kensuke wandering on the street and so Touji hangs up.In a medical room within the base, Ritsuko is giving Kaworu some treatment for a bruise on his right arm. Ritsuko warns Kaworu about the fact that his body won't heal like a normal person, but Kaworu doesn't really care. Kaworu then starts talking to Ritsuko in a scary tone and states that he is in this organization because he chose to. Kaworu states that as long as Shinji is around then he'll keep his promise. After Kaworu is called away by Misato, Ritsuko breathes a sign of relief but she still can't believe that the commander would let such a "monster" roam free.Misato has assembled Shinji, Rei, Kaworu and Asuka to talk about Kensuke's situation. Misato announces that she's leaving to visit Kensuke's house, while Shinji and company wait at the base for further orders. Misato states that Kensuke was probably the one who spread the MMORPG to the school computers, and so that's the only lead they have for now. Shinji worries about what happens if Kensuke gets possessed by an Angel, and Misato responds that there's only one thing they can do in that situation. Kaworu assures Shinji that Kensuke has not been possessed yet, and the Angel is probably confined somewhere and controlling Kensuke from afar. Shinji wonders how Kaworu knows this, and Misato states that Kaworu has the special ability to detect angelic presences. As Misato is about to leave, Shinji suddenly remembers that Touji had already found Kensuke.Touji and Hikari followed Kensuke all the way into the school computer lab where Kensuke is using one of the PCs. From the doorway, Touji and Hikari watch in horror as an Angel emerges from the computer screen.Why can't the girl from "the Ring" look like this?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Gakuen Datenroku is taking things slowly as usual. We finally see what the Angel looks like in this chapter, and she's kinda hot for something that possesses people and kills the host afterwards. Kensuke probably got lured because the Angel was hot and now he is about to unleash her into the real world. I guess all the VR training that Shinji and company went through is now useless unless the Angel's crossing into the real world hits a sudden snag. Hopefully the battle will start in the next chapter.Other than the Angel, this chapter also more or less confirmed that Kaworu is an Angel himself which should come as no surprise for anyone who has seen the NGE anime. The difference is that at least Ritsuko and Gendo already know that Kaworu is an Angel, and so Kaworu's reasons for cooperating with NERV is probably different than that of the anime. The chapter hints that Kaworu's reason is Shinji-related, and that's again hardly a surprise.
