I was wondering how people get their anime. I get most of my anime from fansubs, IRC bots and a lot of my past anime I saw on TV.
How about everyone else? Fansubs? DVDs? Bots? A friend? Where do you get your anime?

I use bittorrent with Azureus. It's fast, and I use RSS to automagically download series.
In the past I used irc, DC++, and something else whose name I forgot. Bittorrent really kicks ass now, though.
I get most of the recent stuff from bittorrent, but I buy the DVD of the shows I like/that are released in the UK. It just takes a criminal amount of time for a UK release oftentimes. :/
The bitTorrent client that I use to get torrents is uTorrent. I used to be a giant fan of Azureus but now I've totally converted to uTorrent. Its fast and it uses less memory than Azureus, plus I dont have to install Java to use it.
Long story at my side. When I first started with anime I used soulseek to get to my anime needs. It's a really handy program for getting your hands on the older shows, though the newer shows were impossible to find. Then I switched to Azureus, but that just murdered my computer. Then I started downloading via Irc, though that didn't work out as well, as I noticed that I started dropping the series which were hard to get. Then I discovered the official bittorrent client, and I've been using that ever since. It runs pretty smooth, the only disadvantage is that you can't select individual files in batched torrents.
Bittorrent with uTorrent. It's not built on Java so it is super quickfast. I like it for superiorness. I usually don't buy any in stores because the license crap, and they dub it and I just don't want to support those companies. :D
I use Bitspirit. I'm debating utorrent over and over, but there's no real advantage I can see.
I buy anime that is translated well, else it makes me cry. I like dual sub/dubs, so my non-anime cohorts can be suckered in, hehe.
Otherwise, Bittorrent owns my soul. I spent$150 for a new HD last week, 250 gigs and i've got 50 lieft :(
I just tried out BitSpirit. Its got a nice logo and it looks pretty good. But it has too much clutter and it has more features than I want. I prefer something simple (not too simple like the official BitTorrent client) and that doesn't take up much resources and hard drive space. I also I like that I dont actually have to install uTorrent. I can just place it in a folder and go.
Fansubs, torrents, BitComet.
I did buy Azudai, Kiddy Grade, and FMP! Horrible VCD quality, though.
Sol Bianca is WONDERFUL. Even in that shitty VCD quality.
i used to watch my anime on TV and then rented some, but now i get them through bittorrent using uTorrent...anime DVDs are scarce where i'm from ^_^;
I use BitComet to download fansubs, but I'll also use eMule to download the shows that I can't find anywhere else.
TokyoTosho.com + uTorrent = me
DiscountAnimeDVD.com + PayPal = me
Simple as that.
DVDPacific.com for DVDs. Sometimes Rightstuf when they have a sell. And Ebay for stuff that's out-of-print.
Baka-Updates.com for fansubs. Boxtorrents.com for older stuff.
I use BT for newer releases and the IRC bots with the older ones.
I grab the DVDs both in stores and online. I frequent Best Buy, RightStuf, CDJapan, and Amazon.jp.
Oh, and sometimes I get great deals from Columbia House. It's my unexpected source for anime.
I BT 90% of my anime. If there's a show that I can get for REALLY cheap in HK with decent quality subs, I might pick it up.
