I don't really bittorrent my anime. I usually just download it through a basic way. I'll get a DVD(s) for a series if I really like it. Or If I feel it'll go good in my library.

I can pretty much find anything licensed really easily thru any nearby store, so theres that, i typically buy from Best Buy though because their prices are the cheapest for legal anime DVDs around here. But all the new stuff is typically gotten via torrent, i use bitcomet though because Azureus is too much work to get to actually d/l faster then 20kb/s ...for me atleast :'o

Mostly throught NetFlix - they have an excellent selection. It can take some time to get a 6 or 7 disk series though!!!

BT with utorrent mainly for me here. I wish libraries here had anime, I remember checking VHS (!) anime tapes from libraries back when I lived in Singapore. I wish I had the money to get DVDs, they'd be my first choice for acquisition then.

I use bitcomet for new ones and emule for older anime and those that cannot survive my bad hdd .

I'm in Santa Clara Co. California. The library system has a lot of anime, and they allow you to put titles on hold from their web site. You pick them up at the local branch when your turn comes up. For example, right now I'm 31st in line for FF7 Advent Children (they have several copies so it's not as bad as it sounds). OTOH, if I want to put Princess Nine on hold, I can get it right away. Too bad I don't want to.

Wait, so this is both how to obtain anime via your PC and how to watch them whenver possible?

I obtain my anime fix mostly thru DL'ing torrents and watching them on my PC. Since anime in the country where I'm from is scarce, and with most of them kid-fare and for the pre-1990 hardcore fans (two different things, I might add), I had to see them first hand wherever possible.¹

I watch anime via my PC. Rarely do I catch them on WOWOW², as the only TV station to have them is at my home in the provinces.

¹Sifting thru anime blogs for any interesting series is first on my to-do list.
²Of course, here in my condominium there is a WOWOW channel. Just need a descrambler to be purchased from the cable provider.

I record shows off of Japanese TV, buy R2 DVDs from Yodobashi Camera (current anime series: Jigoku Shoujo, Mai Otome, Shakugan no Shana, Kagihime Monogatari, and soon Witchblade), buy R1 DVDs through Amazon.com, and BT raws of shows I can't see (because I don't have WOWOW or BS-1).

As for manga, I usually get those at any bookstore i happen to pass by (but mainly at Yurindo, Book 1st, or Kinokuniya chains).

The Lakewood Public library in Lakewood, OH (Cleveland suburb) has a fairly impressive anime and manga collection, and they run their own anime club.

yukisagi, your library has anime or manga!? That would be sweet to find anime at a library! I know my library has manga, but it's always checked out. Those darn kids!

My library has a pretty good selection of anime. I also use Netflix. I buy from Best Buy, Fry's, or online.
