Love Hina and Negima! Okay, I love Akamatsu. XD But, they're really good reads.

And like Tsubaki says, Genshiken is great. I'm only just reading it, though. Poor me.

I strongly recommend Death Note. The plot is mind blowing it draws you in and you'll just spend hours reading without realizing that 6 hours has passed (that's if you marathon the manga).

And then grab Genshiken. It's your otaku bible. XD

I am a Yuu Watase fanboy, and I highly recommend Ayashi no Ceres. Screw the story, it's all about TEH ART.

Mmm, specific preference is important before I could give you definite recommendations, but series like Naruto, the aforementioned Death Note, pretty much anything by CLAMP (xxxHOLiC and Tsubasa being their big two at the moment, both great in their own ways) are all great starts.

I'm a Delrey fanboy and generally swear by most of their series. They're all great quality. If you fancy hard-hitting, mature thriller type stuff, go for Monster. Brilliant brilliant stuff.

History: Country of the Wind by Kim, Jin ( Another Korean Manwha )

Passion: Lament of the Lamb

Emotion: Fruits Basket

scifi: 2001 nights

Relaxation: ARIA

Scifi epic: 5 Star Story, Red Moon.

Music: Nodame Cantabile

Negima. Period. Get it for the art.

One Piece is fine too, even if it's Shounen.

Other recommendations would be Hayate the Combat Butlet, Pastel, Mushishi, NHK.

If you don't mind blood 'n' guts, Tsukihime is a really good series to start off.
