Post in What's an "A-Boy" by xXMikotoNakadaiXx

You got it down. It's a name similar to an otaku.

It basically means old men who live in Akihabara, who are interested in everything an otaku would be interested in.

I'm reading this manga in Japanese called Penguin Musume, and they refer to the main character as an A-Girl, which is like the female equivalent to an A-Boy, but I don't know what an A-Boy is.

I imagine it's just a name for an otaku, but are there any other connotations about the name? Maybe someone out there knows.

Well, if I could find a seinen type or a josei with furigana, that'd be cool. But I guess that won't happen since they're specifically for people who can read a lotta kanji.

I just ordered Yotsubato volume 4 and some other manga called penguin musume from yesasia. The penguin one had a pretty cool cover, which is why I bought it. Yeah, I'm kind of superficial. It's from a shounen magazine, so it should have furigana. I hope.

What other genre are you looking for?

If you want some small volume shoujo I recommend Cherry Juice

If you want a solid shounen I recommend RAVE (not his new work Fairy Tail cause that's like a rave clone)

The ones that I have are mostly shoujo manga and I find Skip Beat slightly acceptable for my really bad reading comprehension. Glass no Kamen or maybe Kiss. And in some ways, Bara no tame ni.

SB is hilarious and very engaging. GnK is teh epic shoujo romance. Kiss is very slice-of-life. Bara no tame ni is plain awesome.

Hey all,

I have some store credit at yesasia (thanks to people's purchases!) and I'm gonna pick up the PSP import of Disgaea. I also thought it might be a good idea to pick up some manga while I'm at it since I already qualify for free shipping.

Do you guys have any suggestions for fairly easy to read import manga? Like with furigana? I'm probably going to pick up Yotsuba&! Volume 4. I might get Lucky Star Volume 1, but I dunno if it's in furigana or not.

Any other suggestions for manga that aren't too hard to read?
