being in Sydney, Australia, I buy from the local Kinokuniya if I can't be half assed to import it, but other than that, I import all mine from Amazon Japan or HLJ if its an artbook.

I buy. A lot. Over the years I've collected close to 500 volumes of manga. Not that much compared to others, but that's because I live in Australia and I buy manga exclusively in Chinese, in Hong Kong.

Generally I try out a series with scanlations, and if I really like it, I go on to buy the complete collection (Ichigo Mashimaro and Gunslinger Girls are next).

Umm, I'm poor so it's 95% online manga scans. But with really good series that I like, I go to Barnes & Noble or look in amazon.

I search the online shops using bookbutler.co.uk first, then see if it's worth ordering it online, or just buy it from waterstones/comic shop in london. Sometimes I go to comic markets to see if they haveanything cheap since i am a poor student. :D

Local bookstore. I haven't used any online shops yet and I doubt that I will anytime soon.

I usually get mine from discountanimedvd.com. Their manga is usually cheaper than everywhere else (for some reason, they kind of have a constant sale going on with manga. Their price is usually about $1 off of the MSRP then their sale price is typically a dollar off that.) For foreign book, I usually go with Yahoo! Auctions Japan or Amazon.co.jp.

Borders b/c I can scan through them. Amazon if I know what I'm getting into.

And shipping=kills me if I'm buying from japan.

sasugabooks.com seems to have a really good selection. I've been meaning to pick up some Mahoraba from there. I'd buy from Amazon.jp but like I said, shipping is wayy to expensive.

For domestic releases, I just go to wherever's the nearest bookstore, either B&N or Borders. I prefer Borders, though.

As for japanese releases, I go to amazon.jp and sometimes to yesasia. Recently, I've been procuring some tanks from sasugabooks.com.

By the way, I get my domestic manga from Amazon.com and my import manga from yesasia.com. No, really. Those are affiliate links, by the way, just so you know.

Both offer free shipping at some price point, which I am a sucker for. Because shipping from Japan is just really expensive!
