Finally, I get to the last part of my coverage. This very last post on the event will cover only those that I seriously found good in relation to the standards that were available on the second day, and I know my expectations are perhaps rather puny. Besides I am not that good a connoisseur of fine cosplay, I would be better called a connoisseur of...damn, I cannot think of anything. So anyway, here is Part 5. For the previous four parts, follow these links - Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 and Part 4. For the aggregate post of day 1's coverage with all the links for day 1, click on this link, and for my full day 2 album, go here. I hereby proclaim this to be a picture-intensive post.Let us all begin with the one of the first few cosplayers I met and that blew me away almost instantly - the protagonist of Final Fantasy Versus XIII! Picture spam coming up.This was a really nice cosplay, and of course, I recognized the female cosplayer (yes female) immediately. For comparison, look at this picture of her from day 1. She is pretty cute...but unfortunately for her both her roles seem to be the non-smiling type. Somehow I want to see her smile, think her face would be fitting with a smile. In any case the sword's detail was amazing, as someone mentioned. She was also followed by hordes of photographers and probably a group of them were her personal professional photographers wanting to do a photoshoot of this particular cosplay for her. The last picture was taken a long time after the first few, and a few more of her are in my album. As to being close to the actual character in FF VS 13, well I have hardly seen pictures, but I can say that the ones I did see do seem to be close. And no, I am not play VS 13, I am not interested in KH style. And an ultra unjust picture for the poor cosplayer below.I know, I should not be smiling. Then it might actually make this picture salvagable.Next up is someone you have seen rehashed, remixed and posted up at least a few hundred times by now - the super duper kawaii Suzumiya Haruhi! As I mentioned before in part 3, I was among the lucky first to see her walking into the area, and she was stopped by someone near me, and we all proceeded to snap happily away. This is really on a whole new level of cute for me, and by cute, I really mean the cute "awwww" kind, not the "pretty" kind. She got famous overnight and had her fame spreading for the past 3 days. And like a few others, I turned away from her if the crowd got too big, or she moved off, snapped a few pictures of some other cosplayers, walked one round or turned back, saw her posing, snapped again. Why not?You can also see the exact times relative to the other cosplayers' photos in my album as to when I took photos of her. In the one directly above, her friend is beside her cosplaying as Allen Walker from the overly cosplayed D.Gray-man. One more of her below before we move on to the next one. You can see better pictures of her at Windbell's coverage for her.The light shines bright on Haruhi.Up next, the person I was waiting for, though she did not appear in her previous KOS-MOS outfit from day 1 - Lenneth! And a friend. They cosplayed as Itoshiki Nozomu and the stalker girl (not sure of the name, thanks to DBlade for ID) from Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei series.I did manage to chat with Lenneth a bit before she got pulled away and found out she had been cosplaying since '03, which is longer than I have been consistently watching anime. Little wonder that she and her friend were able to pull off this cosplay so well, despite me never having watched the series. I did take one with Lenneth, but the pictures I received from others were of poor quality and unusable and I was totally off in those pictures anyway. They would have done her no justice. And she gets on my camera again somehow...Finally, we come to the last tech powerhouse of the event, the previous two being Gundam EXIA and KOS-MOS - Tony Stark himself, the Iron Man!"Look Ma, Iron Man!" This person's expression was priceless. The SWAT members you see in the last photo are the same ones from day 1, and this time round, they are there to protect Iron Man himself from the crowds. Of course, that did not stop him from allowing females he deemed hot to take pictures with him, I do remember cosplayers such as Euphie taking pictures with him as well. Though up close the suit looks like it could use a lot more work, from far it is fantastic. And we really should not be harping on the suit, because according to Fariz who befriended one of the SWAT members, the suit is new as a cosplay costume. A really awesome effort by the team.WTF, on my camera again!Hanif and I were looking for a way to get out of the "backstage" area and found the SWAT members dressing up, but at the time we somehow missed Iron Man. Still it was quite some time later before he finally made his appearance. As you might have guessed, it was extremely difficult to get pictures of him.And so that ends my complete coverage for days 1 and 2 of Cosfest VII 2008. Not too sure if I can make it for next year as I might end up in the US of A. Still, we will see how it goes. And before I forget, here is the group photo of those of us who stayed till past dinner, it was taken at Changi Village. Thanks to Jon for the picture.(From left to right)Bottom row: Hirito, Raven, Guang An (Raven's friend), Wcloudxkumo (Jon)Middle row: Tien Yeh (Raven's friend), Hanif, Squee and his girlfriendTop row: Zero, Akabane, me, Fariz, CKI will probably ask Ruri to do an aggregate post as well as a few updates on Friday, both Cosfest and Saimoe as well as bring you news of a poll regarding my coverage. Tomorrow, exactly one week after her photoshoot, Elwing shall finally make an appearance. Stay tuned for that. The cool, the cute, the great, and the awesome @ Cosfest Day 2,Panther
