How 'bout them Dawgs? I'm in a very good mood now since we somehow managed to beat Auburn today. Beat Georgia Tech in a couple of weeks and it'll turn out to be a decent season for all that's gone on -- losing 4 of our last 5 games before this week, and two of those to Kentucky and Vanderbilt, the bottom-feeders of the SEC.
Anyways, hope all of y'all in the states had a nice Veterans' Day today. Over in Japan 11/11 was PS3 mania time, though only for a few with such a low number of units available. Speaking of PS3, the local Target had a kiosk runnning with demos for NBA 07 and MotorStorm (and it was hooked up to an HDTV, 720p). I tried out MotorStorm for a bit -- pretty much your standard arcade-style racer. Controls were pretty easy -- L and R triggers for throttle and brake -- though it didn't seem like there were any options for motion control. Graphics were good, but not exactly mindblowing... the framerate wasn't very stable (and that wasn't just me, a few people who were watching made similar comments) and that's something I pretty much can't stand. Anyways, not much of an issue for me since it'll be a while before I even think of getting a PS3... any of y'all planning to get one this Friday?
Back on topic now, this day was very nice for another reason besides us winning -- it's my birthday (as you probably guessed from the post title). 25 years and still not out of school yet, but I do have a job now ;) Went out to eat with the family and have a cake and all, so it's been good. After that I stopped by GameStop to pick up something (Target would be next door):
Elite Beat Agents, the US sequel of sorts localization of Ouendan. I spent about two hours playing through the Normal difficulty -- the latter levels got pretty tough, especially the last one. The sense of humor and general insanity present in Ouendan is all here -- dog needs to go 400 miles to go back home, sea captain searches for sunken treasure (set to The Village People's "YMCA" for some reason), taxicab driver needs to rush a pregnant woman to the hospital, so on. There's also a more serious stage about a little girl who wants her father to come back for Christmas, set to a very nice cover of Chicago's "You're the Inspiration" ・゚・(´Д⊂ヽ・゚・ To get to the point, just get it already if you've got a DS, even if you did import Ouendan ;)
Anyways, I know I owe y'all a good bit of blogging, so I'd like to try and get everything I wanted to cover covered a bit in the next few days and start from where we're at for the shows I haven't yet blogged, like Sasami and Asatte no Houkou (watching the BS-i broadcast since it's widescreen. 2 weeks behind TBS) and Kanon (Uguu kawaii yo Uguu!). Also liking OtoBoku a lot so I might pick that one up, then maybe a bit on all the other KNEG-type anime, like Gift (I get the feeling I've seen this before somewhere... this Da Capo or something?), Happiness! (I'm sorry, but I'm not into characters like Jun-nyan.. Sumomo instead), and Yoakena (I have to say something about that "cabbage" in ep 3) since I've been keeping up with them.
