I'm writing a post in relation with the previous one. Ogura Yui is the 14-year-old who sings the ending song for the upcoming Kiss x Sis TV series. I seem to have taken a liking to this girl ^^ And I believe that an outstanding number of you might experience the same phenomenon. Kitamura Eri is known to draw very well. But young Yuuki Aoi seems to be no slouch herself.In her blog, Yuuki (she likes to call herself by her slightly unusual surname) posted a picture of a little panda figure that her father brought back from a business trip to China, and put beside it a drawing she made of the panda as a boy about 12-13: Then she posted a couple of drawings that Kitamura Eri had done: one of Yuuki herself (left), and one of Yuuki as Mina in Dance in the Vampire Bund: Yuuki and KitaEri act together in Vampire Bund and Yumeiro Patissiere, in both of which Yuuki stars. I think that 17-year-old Yuuki is excellent in both, especially in Vampire Bund. KitaEri is just 22, but is already a veteran seiyuu and has become very successful in the past couple of years, ranking among the top twenty seiyuus in terms of episodes acted in last year.To tell the truth, I think that Yuuki's drawing of the panda-boy looks a bit like Sawashiro Miyuki, with whom Yuuki starred in Kurenai. Before the season started, this was the show I had highest hopes for, because Oonuma Shin (ef memories/melodies) was the director. And the hopes are beginning to be realized. Maybe it just took me a while to get it. Maybe Nabeshin (Excel Saga, Puni Puni Poemi) directing episode three was what I needed, lol.In any case, the seiyuu work here is so interesting that I've made a characters/seiyuus page with pics of characters and their seiyuus, and info about the seiyuus. Click here or on the image to go to the full page:There's lots of good work, but I'm particularly struck by two newish names: Harada Hitomi as Himeji and Isomura Tomomi as Shouko. This is great comic character work. Both are a little over the top, but that works here. There are pics and info for both of them on the new page.Harada-san did such a great job with the entirely dissimilar character of Tomoe in Sasameki Koto. She began as a singer and has only recently switched to seiyuu work. Isomura-san is a gamer and game-seiyuu. She says about herself: "Standing, I am a seiyuu. Sitting, I am an otaku. Walking around, I am a cosplayer."It's also great to see two other names who have done good work recently: Miharu (the yuri attacker) is played by Taketatsu Ayane, who is Azusa in K-On, Ako in kissxsis, and Vanilla in Yumeiro Patissiere.And Yuuji is played by Suzuki Tatsuhisa, who did such a nice job as Sugata in Sora no Otoshimono and as Tezuka in Library War.It's always great to hear Mizuhashi Kaori (Minami), who was Ogiue in Genshiken and is Miyako in Hidamari Sketch.And Katou Emiri continues to prove that her "best new seiyuu" award for 2007 was justified. You may or may not think her voice is low enough to be a guy (Hideyoshi), but the tonality and expression are great. She was Kagami in Lucky Star and Mayoi in Bakemonogatari, among other roles.And I like what Shimono Hiro does: here as Aki, as Jin in Kannagi, and as Hiro in ef.

Here's another new show with an excellent cast.So·Ra·No·Wo·To gives a new seiyuu a chance to star, and she sounds like she has been doing it for years.Kanemoto Hisako (front left) stars as Kanata, and sounds a lot like -- maybe too much like -- Toyosaki Aki as Yui in K-On. This is not necessarily a bad thing, since Aki is the moe voice of the moment in anime.With Kanemoto are Kobayashi Yuu (front right) as her superior Rio, and Kitamura Eri (back left) as the intense Kureha. Endou Aya (back right) brings her gentle voice as the soothing Felicia. And 17-year-old Yuuki Aoi (back centre) gives us yet another voice, as she zooms up the ranks.Yuuki-san was Murasaki in Kure-nai three years ago, but starting last fall, she is now becoming a real star. She is in three other current shows: starring as Ichigo in Yumeiro Patissiere, starring as Mina Tepes in Dance in the Vampire Bund, and as Riko in Anyamaru Tantei Kiruminzoo. And every one of those voices is different.
