Cornered by Makina's forces, Tamaki tries to justify his actions. Should have probably checked your computer's power supply for damage before turning it on. Summary: Makina's forces have defeated the Forgeries and surrounded Tamaki in his office. Makina decks Tamaki with a punch and declares his cruel experiments are over, but Tamaki states the game isn't over yet and starts telling his story. Before the big earthquake, Tamaki was a nerd who is forever stuck in front of his computer playing games. After the big earthquake destroyed his beloved machines, Tamaki used his computer skills to find what caused the earthquake and he discovered that it was the Wretched Egg, the originator of the Branch of Sin, who was responsible. Taking the whole situation as a a real life game, Tamaki then helped set up DW and performed experiments on the inmates in order to find a way to kill the Wretched Egg (the final boss), and Tamaki thinks that his actions are fully justified as it is for the greater good. While Makina is pondering about what Tamaki said, a helicopter arrives. Tamaki thinks that it's his way out, but Makina reveals that the helicopter will take Tamaki straight to the police station. However, before Tamaki can be loaded into the helicopter a big hole appears in the ground from which emerge Sakigami Toto and his twin escorts. The twins start going through Tamaki's briefcase filled with Deadmen blood samples, but Makina takes the case back and tells Toto to back off. In response, Toto calls down to the hole and the Red Man/Wretched Egg flies up into the open. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At only 25 pages, this was a pretty short chapter by DW standards. The first half was allotted to Tamaki so he can tell his life story and motivations for starting Deadman Wonderland. While his ultimate goal of killing the Wretched Egg was known a few chapters ago, Tamaki's personal history was a little surprising and funny. So Tamaki's motivation for going after the Wretched Egg is because the earthquake destroyed his computer and games? That's hilarious and sad at the same time. There is no question Tamaki is nuts though. The computer nerd/otaku thing aside, I distinctly remember Tsunenaga Tamaki being the son of the warden (who was killed by Red Man during the series), and yet in his flashback Tamaki makes no mention of his father. Tamaki appears to be claiming all the credit for himself, but his father was deeply involved with the project. The series will have to clear up this bit of family history a bit later. The story is now focused on the return of the Wretched Egg/Red Man. She is terrible enough on her own, but even worse Toto and the twins seem to be on her side as well. The fact that the Red Man is moving about freely means that Azami probably met an unsightly end. As with most climatic finishes, things are going to get worse for the protagonist before they get any better, and Ganta might be in for a lot of nasty surprises in the coming chapters.
