On this post, I shall share my two cents over what the stupid Grimlock did over to his beloved wife. Also, I got to surf on the net regarding one topic related to the post I am writing. This post is not complete without me talking about the sacredness of Marriage. The post consists of two cases with different viewpoints: Case 1 (Legal), and Case 2 (Spiritual). Case 1. Let’s look back at the conversation between Kirito and Asuna: I will cite references from the Philippine Bar Exams Forum’s Wiki. […] (4) The share of either spouse in the hidden treasure which the law awards to the finder or owner of the property where the treasure is found; […] “Properties belong to the conjugal partnership” Conjugal partnership of gains - Wiki Law Project (Philippines). phbar.org (Bar Exams Forum - Philippines). 31 May 2008. Web. 16 Aug 2012. <http://phbar.org/wikilaw/index.php?title=Conjugal_partnership_of_gains#Properties_belong_to_the_conjugal_partnership> Moving on, Kirito asks what if one of them (the couple) dies. “Upon the termination of the marriage by death, the conjugal partnership property shall be liquidated in the same proceeding for the settlement of the estate of the deceased. If no judicial settlement proceeding is instituted, the surviving spouse shall liquidate the conjugal partnership property either judicially or extra-judicially within six months from the death of the deceased spouse.” “Liquidation upon death of spouse” Conjugal partnership of gains - Wiki Law Project (Philippines). phbar.org (Bar Exams Forum - Philippines). 31 May 2008. Web. 16 Aug 2012. < http://phbar.org/wikilaw/index.php?title=Conjugal_partnership_of_gains#Liquidation_upon_death_of_spouse> In short words, if we shall follow existing Philippine laws, we can answer Kirito with a big, resounding “yes”. Case 2. Grimlock is ranting about what happened to his beloved Griselda Yuuko after entering SAO. She’s not afraid of death, and became lively than ever, which pisses him off. Why? Because he can’t possess his wife, as Asuna states. Grimlock, you and Yuuko are a married couple. Y DO THIS TO HER? The Sacredness of Marriage. Based on what my ministers taught me (and as most of you know), Marriage is a sacred thing. That is why people are taught to love your wife “‘til death do they part”. In order for your marriage to be fruitful, you need to have trust in each other — that is the most basic thing, of which Grimlock neglected and failed to do so because he wants to dominate over her. No good husband will do that to his wife, just look at Wakana’s dad from Tari Tari. With that, I rest my case. Moving back to SAO, I can be so sure that the plot is not good (as @kuroshinko mandates). To me,the plot is in the borderline where I can explain some points (good) and I rant against it (bad). Also, Grimlock’s wife is cute and badass — why lost the femme fatale that is Yuuko? I mean, she IS the ideal wife, right? I wonder if she played a lot of games before entering SAO. Kawahara, answer me!
