Episode 1 TakumaThe anime begins with a poem that was written over seventy years ago during the American depression, there is some dispute as to the author but it has been used by numerous Christian organizations for cards and other inspirational materials. So what’s it doing at the beginning of an anime based on adult visual novel? After this preface a wild boar chases a blind boy Takuma Hirose who’s being led by Otoha-chan who claims to be the spirit of the sounds of time. She tells Takuma that she understand the boar and he’s just saying “Get off my turf.”. They come out onto the crest of the hill and Otoha has disappeared but the boar continues to charge Takuma who is tackled by Hayami Kohinata saving him from being trampled. She refuses to give her name but does lead him down the path and point him in the direction of the school. When he arrives at the school the class representative had dropped some binders and is crawling on the floor to gather them together and we get some blind fan service as he pokes her butt and raises her skirt with his guide stick. Then in the classroom Takuma shares a desk with Hayami Kohinata where he learns her name. This is one of the oddest anime I’ve ever seen at first it’s all comedy and fanservice with a touch of supernatural mystery then it turns dramatic and psychological. The second episode which was much more dramatic as it focuses more on a girl being targeted by her classmates. At first I thought this was going to be another fanservice filled harem school anime but after these first two episodes I’m pretty intrigued to find out what’s going on here. So I’d recommend this to fans of shows like Kanon or Higurashi no Naku Koro ni.Download the English fansub for the first two episodes here.
