Nice episode. It's nice to see Natsume learning more about Reiko's character. Other than being playful and irresponsible, Reiko can be a romanticist too! Even though Reiko is no longer around, through his experiences with the youkai, Natsume learns more about Reiko and it feels as if she's still very much part of his life. (^-^)SummaryThe youkai featured in this episode is called Kirinoha. He is a spirit born in the forest. When Kirinoha first sees Natsume, he thinks that Natsume is Reiko and starts to stalk him. Natsume assumes that Kirinoha's name is in the 'Book of Friends' and tries to return Kirinoha's name, however, the 'Book of Friends' can't find the name. The reason is Reiko has tied the page with Kirinoha's name onto a tree branch 50 years ago. Natsume, being very kind, decides to help Kirinoha find his name. Natsume, Nyanko-sensei and Kirinoha set off to search for the paper in the forest. While searching, Natsume bumps into Tanuma. Tanuma decides to help out, even though he can't see Kirinoha, and asks 3 of Natsume's classmates along to search for the paper. Nyanko-sensei also asks Hinoe to help. In the middle of the search, Natsume gives in to his fever and faints.While Natsume is resting in bed at home, he overhears how Hinoe met Reiko in the past. He also learns about Kirinoha’s wish to see the ocean. Even though Hinoe and Nyanko-sensei think that Reiko was just playing a trick on Kirinoha, Natsume believes that his grandmother tied the page with the Kirinoha's name for a reason.The next morning, Natsume's two biggest youkai fans bring in a good news. The good news is they have found the name! Despite still feeling a little unwell, Natsume decides to go back to the forest. Kirinoha's name is tied onto the tallest tree in the forest. With encouragement from Natsume, Kirinoha climbs up the tree and finally finds his name. To his surprise, his dream comes true and he gets a wonderful view of the ocean. Everyone is pleasantly shocked at what Reiko had planned for Kirinoha after 50 years, except for Nyanko-sensei who thinks that Reiko is no romanticist.
