The first time I saw the little boy in last episode's preview, I thought that he's a youkai. However, I am surprised that Nyanko-sensei says that he's not, in the early part of this episode. I sort of let my guard down and Natori certainly surprises me when, at the end, he reveals that Kai is actually a youkai. In the last episode, Natori seems troubled by his new assignment and if I am not wrong, this little boy is the new assignment. Hmm.. I wonder how the boy manages to hide his youkai smell from Nyanko-sensei. He must be a high level youkai.From the preview, it seems like it's time for Natsume to finally make a choice between youkai and humans. So will Natsume choose youkai, humans, or neither like Reiko? I think he will choose youkai and humans since both are so dear to him.I can wait to see the next episode which happens to be the last episode. SummaryOne day, after school, Natsume's two friends drag him to an abandoned house to meet up with Sasami. According to Sasami, weird things and strange voices are heard from the house in the night. She firmly believes that Natsume has special powers and wants him to check it out. Taki then appears too and teams up with Sasami to search for youkai. The truth is, Taki is helping Natsume to get Sasami off his back.Moments later, Nyanko-sensei also appears and warns Natsume to leave. Suddenly, Natsume hears cries for help. He runs towards the cries and he finds a boy stuck in a coffin. Natsume frees him but the boy runs off without a thank you. Near the coffin, Natsume picks up the boy's name tag. His name is Ishio Kai.Natsume wants to return the name tag to Kai, but his friends call Natsume names and throw things at him. Natsume runs back home and he seems to be hurt by the verbal insults. Despite that, Natsume is determined to return the name tag to Kai and so he gives Nyanko-sensei 200 yen and asks Nyanko-sensei to return it to Kai.Later that day, Natsume bumps into Tanuma. While they are walking and chatting, a youkai with a saber appears. The youkai successfully injures Natsume's right hand. Taki then appears and tells them to leave the area as it’s known to lure youkai. After Taki helps Natsume to wrap up his wound, the three notice that Kai is following them. Kai apologizes to Natsume for what he and his friends had done, and they make up and become friends.Every day, Kai will drop by Natsume's school and Natsume, Taki and Kai will play and walk home together. One day, Taki teaches Kai how to make crowns using flowers and sweet Kai makes one for Natsume. On their way home, the three are attacked by the same saber-holding youkai. Kai and Natsume can see it but Taki can’t. Natsume asks Taki to back off while he and Kai runs off in the opposite direction and into the forest. When the youkai tries to attack them, Natsume pushes Kai out of the way. When the youkai is about to cut Natsume, Nyanko-sensei appears and saves Natsume. Nyanko-sensei bites the youkai and sucks its energy. It turns out that Taki is the one who informs Nyanko-sensei to come and save Natsume.Even though the youkai is defeated, Natsume still has a bad feeling. He catches a suspicious person who has been watching them. That person turns out to be Natori! Natori is hunting youkai again. When being asked about Kai, Natori reveals that he did not lock up Kai, but he merely sealed Kai in the coffin! In other words, Kai is a youkai!PicturesNatsume hears cries for help from inside the coffin.The boy is called Ishio Kai.Tanuma finally makes an appearance.While walking and chatting, Natsume and Tanuma bump into this youkai.Nyanko-sensei returns the name tag to Kai for 200 yen!Kai is crying on Natsume's back.Natsume: 'I made a kid cry.. How can I prove that I’m worried about him? It’d be easier if he were a youkai,'Everyday after school, the three hang out together.The youkai appears again and tries to attack Natsume!Kai pushes Natsume away.In the forest, Natsume fights with the youkai.Nyanko-sensei appears and saves Natsume.Natori appears again! ^-^He reveals that he did not lock up Kai.
