After finding Maria in the rose garden at the end of the first episode, all the members of Ushiromiya family, except Kinzou, gathers at fabulous dinner. Rosa uses this opportunity to ask who has lent Maria an umbrella, but nobody answers affirmatively. Therefore, Maria is repeating that she has got the umbrella from the witch, Betrice. When the dinner is over, Maria takes out an envelope out of her bag. Everybody is astonished at the sight of it, as the wax that seals it bears the crest of Ushiromiya on it. It was marked by Kinzou's ring, which is the symbol of the Head of the Ushiromiya family.Maria is obviously asked whom she got the envelope from, and she happily answers she got it from Beatrice. Then she proceeds to read the letter in a slightly creepy voice and an eerie smile. The letter contains information about a contract between Kinzou and Beatrice. According to it, she lent him a tremendous amount of gold, and it must be returned at the time of the contract's termination. Another condition is that Beatrice will get everything created by Ushiromiya family as interest. However, there's a special clause that allows Ushiromiya family to retain its wealth and annulate the contract without returning anything. To fulfil this clause, one has to find the hidden gold. In order to find it, one has to solve the epitaph under the portrait of the Golden Witch.Kyrie then talks alone with Battler and tells him she doesn't believe there is a 19th person on Rokkenjima. Which means that Beatrice is one of the 18 people, Ushiromiya family, servants, and doctor Nanjo. At the same time, Krauss leads his wife to a locked room and shows her something bewildering. A golden bar, with Ushiromiya crest on it. And that means that the legend about the hidden gold, which everyone thought to be a fairytale, is real.Natsuhi gets a pretty bad headache after that. Jessica meets her in a corridor and seeing her in a bad state, she gives her the charm that she received from Maria. Some time later, George goes to a garden arbor with Shannon. He says he wants to give her something and reaches his hand into his pocket. What he pulls out is a ring, engagement ring. Shannon, whose real name is Sayo, is quite astounded so George tells her that he will give her time until tomorrow morning to think about her answer. He wants her to show her answer not by words, but by action. Which means the answer depends on which finger she will put the ring on. If she puts it on her ring finger, her answer is "yes".Blushing Shannon goes to the mansion to calm herself. Gouda is there as well, and then some family members. The first day is over.Next morning, Genji goes to Natsuhi's room to inform her that phones aren't working and Gouda and some other people have disappeared somewhere. There's one more unpleasant thing, and that is Natsuhi's door. It seems that somebody has been trying to get into her room in the night, and they left there clear evidence of it. Crimson hand prints.Few minutes later, Kanon finds something very strange about the shed in the garden. Kanon tells others about it and then besides him, Genji, Natsuhi, Eva, and Hideyoshi gather there and see a creepy crimson scribble on the shed's door. Hideyoshi says it might be a magic circle, and then they decide to unlock and open the door to find if anybody is inside. What is awating them there is an atrocious scene. Six corpses are laying there, their bodies and faces deformed so much that if it weren't for their clothes it would be very hard to identify them. They call in doctor Nanjo. Children, apart from Maria, having noticed that something is going on, follow them to the shed. And there, they see what they shouldn't.George asks if there's five bodies laying there, and his father tells him there is one more back there. And that one person has a ring on her ring finger...
